Strategy: Working World is a for-profit micro-venture enterprise that works in conjunction with nonprofit entrepreneurial organizations . Working World is dedicated to supporting aspiring international entrepreneurs to become self-reliant through self-employment in their native lands. Working World's relationship with non-profit organizations is mutually beneficial.
-
Non-profits through educational and networking programs assist in the incubation of budding entrepreneurial businesses. The business plan competitions sponsored by the non-profits produce the best candidates for funding which will be a source of quality deal flow for Working World.
-
Working World provides critical start-up funding which allows the non-profits to better assist in the incubation of its aspiring entrepreneurial ventures.
Working World fills the need for small venture-capital investments in the $10-100,000 (USD equivalent) range that are typically “too small” and “too remote” for traditional angel or other typical venture-capital involvement. Through local and international business plan competitions, qualified entrepreneurs will be selected and provided funding to start their own businesses. Our goal is to assist international entrepreneurs and simultaneously seize the opportunity for Working World to be profitable. A percentage of Working World's profits are donated to the non-profit organizations to ensure that they become self-sustaining.
Aspiring entrepreneurs have a need to understand the fundamentals and practical aspects of creating and implementing a business plan. Non-profit educational and charitable foundations provide this essential education by:
-
Creating international support networks of business mentors.
-
Teaching intensive courses on principles of small business creation, operation, and sales through remote entrepreneurship learning centers.
-
Organizing business plan competitions for aspiring entrepreneurs to apply learned skills and discover potential business opportunities.
On a case-by-case basis, Working World selects from the pool of business plans championed by the non-profits and provide funding for their entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs with quality business plans that can be successfully implemented and operated through the non-profit's mentor network will be chosen for funding. |
